Megan Young, PT, DPT strongly believes in treating the whole patient. Megan has been practicing since 2021, and quickly gained valuable experience treating sports and orthopedic injuries. Her experiences in fast paced settings influenced her to seek a career that allows her to provide individualized, hands-on care. Megan’s decision to pursue PT stems largely from her 15+ years experience as an athlete. She was a competitive Irish dancer for 10 years before turning her focus towards long distance running. She went on to compete for Boston College’s division I cross country and track teams, while also studying for her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Northeastern University in 2021 with an special interest in women’s health.

Like many college athletes, Megan struggled physically and mentally to balance her academic and athletic workload. This led to her developing residual energy deficiency-syndrome (RED-S), rehabilitating numerous stress fractures, and searching for an answer for her chronic pain. She spent years visiting specialists, undergoing tests, and trying various treatments before she received the diagnosis of endometriosis.

After years of feeling dismissed, Megan understands the importance of listening to and looking at the entire patient. She aims to break the stigma and increase awareness of pelvic floor dysfunction, and hopefully provide more people with the care they need much sooner. Megan has completed Athletes and Pelvic Rehabilitation, Pelvic Floor Level 1, and Pelvic Floor Level 2B with the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute to further her knowledge and understanding. Her clinical skills include manual therapy and joint mobilization, running gait analysis, concussion rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, balance training, and aquatic therapy.
